My Research

Writing serves today as the primary vehicle for global knowledge creation and sharing. The goal of my research is to help improve our understanding of the roles writing plays in the development of knowledge, how writing abilities develop across the lifespan and across the curriculum, as well as the impact of professional development interventions on teachers of writing. I am especially interested in understanding the mechanisms and processes that facilitate writing development.

I am currently engaged in a study of dissertation writers and dissertation supervisors, which aims to contribute to the growing body of international writing research focused on the experiences and challenges faced by dissertation writers across the disciplines.
